Blood Orange Apple Cider

Blood Orange Apple Cider Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups apple cider
  • 1 cup fresh blood orange juice (about 2–3 blood oranges)
  • 1 blood orange (sliced, for garnish)
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1 star anise (optional)
  • 1–2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)

Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the apple cider, blood orange juice, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and star anise.
  2. Heat over medium heat until the mixture starts to steam. Do not boil.
  3. Taste and add honey or maple syrup if desired for additional sweetness.
  4. Strain the mixture to remove the spices (optional, if you prefer a smoother drink).
  5. Pour into mugs and garnish with a blood orange slice and a cinnamon stick. Serve warm.
