Desert Rose Cocktail by SpritzandSpice

Desert Rose Cocktail by SpritzandSpice

This drink has smoke, sweetness, and floral elements. I wanted to create something that was one of the 50 shades of red and could easily start your Valentineโ€™s or Galentineโ€™s festivities! Blood orange, hibiscus syrup, and mezcal is just one damn good cocktail.

DESERT ๐ŸŒน ROSE

Ingredients

Add everything to a shaker and strain over fresh iced with a tajin rimmed glass. Enjoy!

Hibiscus Syrup Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup hibiscus flowers/tea
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp water

Add all of the ingredients to a small pot on medium heat. Continuously stir with a whisk for a few minutes as the mixture comes to a small simmer. This is to make sure all the ingredients are well combined, the syrup should turn a deep pink/red color. Once it has been simmering for 1-2 minutes then pull it off the heat because we donโ€™t want the sugar to burn. Let it cool and strain all the flowers out, and store in fridge for up to 2 weeks.
